Rail tracks near the Eco Park at Sirajganj’s Syedabad were repaired overnight after six carriages of a goods-carrying train jumped tracks around 11:00am on Sunday. The work to remove the carriages blocking traffic on the Bangabandhu Bridge began after two trains reached the spot at 4:30am. Trains were able to resume movement at 2:30am, said Shawkat Jamil, transport official (West Zone) for Bangladesh Railway. Train communications returned to normal in the morning.”Syedabad Railway Station Master Abdur Gofur have been suspended for neglecting duty after the derailment. A probe committee was also formed with transport official Shawkat Jamil as its head.
