Trees fell on the railroads as storms swept over Moulvibazar. Rail and forest authorities undertook a rescue operation, said Kabir Ahmed, station master of Shamsher Nagar Railway Station in Kamalganj. Divisional Forest Officer Shamsul Muid Chowdhury said the railroads were blocked by fallen trees and electrical poles. An Udyan Express train from Chattogram to Sylhet was struck by a storm around 4am on Tuesday when it was crossing the Lawachara forest, according to rail officials. Dhaka-bound Kalni Express train was stranded at Shamshernagar Station while a Jalalabad Express train was at Satgoan Station in Srimangal.
