Family of a 45-year-old woman, who died in a train accident, donated her body to save four lives in Vashi on Thursday. Shobha Chavan, a homemaker and a resident of Shivprerna chawl in Mankhurd, was admitted in MGM New Bombay Hospital on Monday after she was hit by a train while crossing the tracks between Sanpada and Vashi railway stations. She had sustained serious head injury and multiple fractures.She was declared brain dead on Wednesday. Her liver was sent to Wockhard Hospital and the heart was donated to a patient undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital in Mulund. The heart was transported early morning at 7.30 am by creating a green corridor with the support of police and RTO authorities of Navi Mumbai and Mumbai police.
