A family is mourning after their five-year-old child bled to death following a botched operation to remove his teeth in Lunga Lunga slums, Nairobi. The mother of the child took him to a local clinic to have the teeth extracted because they had apparently grown abnormally, police said. Faith Mwongeli Kivuva, 20 walked to Lunga Lunga police station on Saturday evening and reported her son Maxwell Mutinda had died in the house after the botched operation. According to Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei, the woman thought the child would recover from the bleeding. The woman took the child to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
