Femi MakindeThe General Manager, Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr Tayo Akanle, has said water transport can help ease gridlock on Lagos roads. He said residents could drive to the jetties, park their cars and take boat or ferry rides to their destinations. Akanle said apart from water transport, rail transport could also be useful, saying alternative modes of transport would help to decongest the roads. He said, “The idea behind our report on waterway is to let the people know that water transport system exists and it is faster and safer than before. “So, we report the movement of boats and ferries and we use that to create awareness that movement on waterways exists now.
