Within 48 hours of going live online, the #TorontoStrong Fund has raised more than $893,000 in the wake of the devastating events on Yonge St. earlier this week. On Monday, a white van mounted the sidewalk on Yonge St. near Finch Ave. and hit pedestrians along a 2.2-kilometre stretch, killing 10 and injuring 14. The #TorontoStrong Fund, named for a hashtag widely used online as the city reeled from news of the van rampage, was set up by the City of Toronto and the Toronto Foundation.
