A teenager shot and killed Thursday night in the parking lot of a Scarborough housing complex had aspirations to attend college to continue playing basketball, says a family friend. The teen, identified as Jayden Simpson by family friend Rochelle Daniel, was shot just hours after his high school graduation. “He wanted to go to college and play ball,” she said, while standing next to the shooting scene. “ “Basketball is his thing.” Simpson played basketball for Sir Wilfrid Laurier C.I., and was known to frequent courts near the Toronto Community Housing townhouse complex on Danzig St., with his younger brother. Toronto Community Housing staff were at the scene speaking to residents.
