Last month, the Toronto Police Service began replacing its familiar white Ford Crown Victoria vehicles with Ford Interceptors painted in a dark shade of grey. The board told Saunders to report back on the service’s plans for its cars. The Toronto police civilian oversight board has told Chief Mark Saunders to explain why he decided, without any public or board input, to change the colour of the service’s fleet from white to grey. He also said that people complained when the cars were yellow, then white, and now.
