Toronto Police say two men are in custody after police responded to reports of a man armed with a butcher knife throwing things off a balcony apartment near Sherbourne and Carlton Streets Thursday morning. Toronto Police told the Star that officers were responding to “disorderly people in an apartment.” About an hour later, police said they had two men in custody. In a photo sent by a neighbour, Fred Betterman, the emergency task force is seen surrounding the apartment at 392 Sherbourne St. They did not elaborate if one of them was the person throwing the things down and did not give details on whether any charges have been laid. The items thrown out of the apartment, including a TV, seem to have smashed the back windows of two cars parked below.
