Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Toronto and its surrounding regions Sunday evening. Locations covered by the latest thunderstorm warning involve several municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area, including: Toronto, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Markham, Pickering, Oshawa, Peterborough, Cobourg, Dundas, Waterdown, Lincoln, Ajax, Whitby, Bowmanville, Port Hope and Trent Hills. Environment Canada asks people to take cover immediately when inclement weather approaches, warning of flash floods, large hail, strong winds and lightning. “Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada,” the statement said.
