News of the truncated season came two days after the Ontario government revealed its new COVID-19 measures. 8:02 p.m.: British Columbia health officials are reporting a dramatic spike in COVID-19 cases, while they order a pause indoor physical activities. There are 7,732 active COVID-19 cases in B.C., and 284 people are in hospital. That has now expanded to include all of the facility’s medical floors, the local public health unit said. Manitoba public health orders have shut down bars and have also banned gatherings of more than five people.
