Dear Diary:There is a taxi driver in New York City to whom I owe an apology. I left the Museum of Modern Art on West 54th Street thinking that I was on West 53rd Street and hailed a cab. I assumed that the driver was taking advantage of an older woman and reprimanded him. He tried to explain that 54th Street runs east, with no turns allowed before Third Avenue, but I was too angry to listen and accused him of taking the long way. I wish I could find the driver and tell him I am sorry.
