TVWork, an exhibition at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, doesn’t look like art. It looks like a set for some surreal office drama starring Winona Ryder in shoulder pads and a perm. During regular office hours, staff members work in the actual exhibition, on the blue chairs, at white desks. At night, when the staff goes home, the exhibition goes blank, nothing but an empty room. All five episodes, which depict the Pioneer Works staff at work overlaid with subtitles consisting of random phrases lifted — coincidentally — from an old Forbes employee manual, are also released on YouTube.
