As if it were that easy, as if I could simply inhale and exhale and the world would be right again! I cant, I cant. The first surge of oxygen to my lungs felt violent, yet I took another breath, and another, and another. But I had not dragged myself back from the edge so that I could live. Perhaps it was enough to live your life for someone you love, and let that carry you through.
