Portland State hung tough despite trailing by 19 points three times during the second half, the last time being at the 11:54 mark of the second half. Portland State was without injured center Sal Nuhu, who’s missed four games with an ankle sprain, and starting forward Alonzo Walker due to a heel injury. The Vikings made it 80-76 on a short jumper from Woods with 19.7 seconds left, but Portland State ran out of time. Thompson threw down a fast-break dunk at the 8:11 mark for a 25-18 Beavers’ lead. The Beavers are 14-0 all time against Portland State and 10-0 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.
