Write to letters@thetimes.co.ukSir, Further to your report “Planning shake-up to spur ‘building boom’”, (Mar 11), what is needed is a way of forcing developers to build on the sites for which they have already obtained planning permission. There are two sites in the centre of our village that have been sitting undeveloped for nearly ten years. In a nearby town a pub was illegally bulldozed more than five years ago, planning permission was granted for housing there yet it remains an empty site. And in an adjacent village a large site also has permission for hundreds of houses but remains undeveloped. The problem is not new sites for development but building on the sites that already have planning consent.
