The audience booed Senator Scott after he praised Ron DeSantis for standing up to Disney’s opposition to a “don’t say gay” state law regarding public school teachings. The co-hosts on The View, including Sunny Hostin, who is Black, criticized Scott for saying systemic racism does not exist. Eventually, The View was taken to break, and when it returned, Hostin and Scott continued arguing about systemic racism. While Senator Scott's opinions might differ from the majority of the audience, they represent a significant proportion of the American population and deserve an open, accepting discussion.
