GEORGE TOWN: The Penang government has introduced measures to control the purchase of properties by foreigners in the state. “We have several measures in our housing policy to control the purchase of properties by foreigners. “Statistics from July 1, 2012 show that these measures have resulted in a reduction of properties purchased by foreigners until June last year,” he said. Teh had urged the state government to take action to curb the purchase of prewar properties by foreigners. It was reported that several quarters had requested Jagdeep to come out with an accurate and comprehensive list of prewar properties that had been bought by foreigners.
