Bangladesh will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in Kandy on August 31. Bangladesh are pitted in Group B along with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan while Pakistan, India and Nepal are in Group A. The high-voltage encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be played on September 2 in Kandy. The Lankans are the defending champions, having beaten Pakistan in the final last year in the United Arab Emirates. The last 50-over Asia Cup was held in 2018, also in the UAE, where India emerged victorious after defeating Bangladesh in an exciting final.
