The storms with thunderbolts uprooted trees and flattened houses in the district’s Domar,Dimla and Jaldhaka Upazilas on Thursday night, according to local correspondents of bdnews24.com. In Jaldhaka, three people were killed as trees collapsed on them during the twister. Dharmapal Union Parishad Chairman Jaminur Rahman said, “Sumaya with her daughter was in the house during the storm. In Domar, four people died on the spot as the storm ripped through their houses, said Sub Inspector Arman Ali of Domar Police Station. Department of Agricultural Extension Assistant Director M Abul Kashem Azad said thunderstorms wreaked havoc on crops, mainly paddy, jute and maize in the storm-hit-areas.
