Three suspected thugs were shot dead by police in Nyeri on Wednesday. An AK47 rifle and nine bullets were recovered from the suspects said to be on a robbery mission. Police have stepped their hunt on criminals in the wake of a boost in intelligence from members of the public. On Aug 11, police in Webuye shot dead three thugs said to have been terrorising residents of Bungoma. On August 12, police officers gunned down two thugs at Kihunguro in Ruiru after a robbery targetting an Uber taxi driver.
