The Canadiens recognized achievement on the ice and in the classroom Monday as they handed out the Guy Lafleur Awards of Excellence. He also took part in the University Games held in Russia, returning home with a bronze medal. Marc-Olivier Lantin received the Guy Lafleur Award of Merit and a $1,000 scholarship awarded to a player from the Quebec Collegiate League or the Quebec Junior AAA League. A centre with the Princeville Titans, Lantin had 24 goals and 58 points in 43 games and added 12 goals and five assists in 21 playoff games. A kinesiology student at UQTR, he achieved a 4.3 (out of 4.3) grade average in the fall semester.
