On Thursday night, three hawkers were mowed to death by the Surat-Bandra Inter City Express at Palghar at around 6.40 am on Thursday. The hawkers were waiting at a crossing to board general coach of Saurashtra Janta Express to sell their eatables. "The control room changed the track and gave a green signal, the trio were caught unawares and were mowed down. The station master informed us about the incident and we took the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem," said a Palghar GRP officer. Pramod Babar, Police Inspector, Palghar GRP, said, "Often, the hawkers enter into the train while a train is pulling in, which is very risky.
