NewsLifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard rescued three foreigners who got caught in a rip current in the seas off Mirssa Beach yesterday, Navy said. Upon rescuing the foreigners in distress, they were safely brought to the shore. The persons rescued were identified as two nationals from the Czech Republic and one Russian. Meanwhile Navy rendered assistance to transfer a critically ill foreign patient who had suffered with a sudden heart attack ashore for treatment yesterday. The foreigner was on a merchant vessel named ‘ALONISSON’ belong to Greece which had ventured out to sea from the State of Qatar to South Korea.
