The accident occurred around 12pm on Tuesday in the Bijoypur Srinibash area of the Sadar South Upazila, said Lalmai Highway Outpost In-Charge Sgt Md Ibrahim. The inter-city Paharika Express from Chittagong struck the microbus, said Sgt Ibrahim. One died at Comilla Medical College Hospital while the other passed away at Comilla Sadar Hospital. No railway workers have been assigned to monitor the crossing, said Laksam Railway In-charge Swapan Kanti Barua. Comilla Sadar South Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Abdul Hai Bablu said travellers use the crossing at their own discretion and the railway authority had not assigned anyone to the crossing.
