The Gachibowli police have arrested three persons in connection with the theft of 60 laptops from the premises of C.R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS) at the University of Hyderabad. They allegedly entered the premises unlawfully during late night hours and removed 60 laptops from the institute with the intention of selling them for wrongful gain. Police said all 60 laptops were recovered along with three mobile phones and two cars bearing registration numbers TS 15 FP 7697 and TG 11 C 3963. The investigation involved analysis of CCTV footage and technical evidence, and special teams were formed to trace and apprehend the suspects.
