KOTA KINABALU: Three Thai women, believed to have been exploited by a prostitution syndicate, were rescued in a police operation in the state capital, yesterday. The women, aged between 21 and 23, were in possession of valid passports. The trio arrived in Sabah on Oct 26 and were believed to have been exploited by a prostitution ring. State criminal investigation chief Datuk Salehhudin Abd Rahman said police conducted a special operation at 2.30pm following a tip-off. Meanwhile, police also raided a hotel room at 8.40pm and detained a Filipino woman suspected of offering sex services via WeChat.
