BELAGAVI: Neginhal village of Bailhongal taluk , situated 38km from Belagavi, is a land of soldiers The village has gained this reputation as over 400 youths from there have been in the Army and the Border Security Force The village, with about 1,200 households and a population of 7,500, takes service to the country rather seriously. Soldiers visiting the village on holidays and retired soldiers are on the guest list for the celebration of national festivals. "Ramesh Pujar, a soldier, said, "Although Neginhal is small, we have given many responsible citizens to the country . We feel proud when people call ours a `village of soldiers'. One works to educate the nation and the other to protect it."
