As I listened to Prof Abdi Guliye speak about the ongoing talks between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, I couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration. Here we are, as a nation, struggling to keep up with the ever-rising costs of running elections and yet our leaders seem more interested in power games than serving the people. Guliye's comments about the talks being a mockery of the IEBC institution and the electoral process hit close to home. We cannot afford to keep running expensive elections only for them to be challenged and undermined at every turn. It's time for us to demand better and for our leaders to deliver on their promises to serve the nation.
