John Carpay may not be a household name, but you’ve likely heard about some of the causes pushed by the freedom-fighting, controversy-courting Alberta lawyer. Carpay, it was revealed this week, hired a private investigator to tail a Manitoba judge — one who was presiding over a case in which Carpay was involved. He explained the hiring of the private investigator was in the context of determining whether government officials were complying with public health orders. Calls and emails from the Star to the JCCF and Carpay went unanswered this week. “What expertise do JCCF board members have related to epidemiology to challenge the lethality of the COVID-19 virus?” she asked.
