Olalekan Adetayo, AbujaThe leadership of the Third Force Movement under the umbrella of Nigeria Intervention Movement has endorsed Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party for the presidential election. The decision was contained in a statement by the movement’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Debo Adeniyi, on Friday. Adeniyi said the decision of the third force stakeholders was without prejudice to the recently-concluded opinion polls by Alliance for Defence of Democracy to pick a consensus candidate to contest against the All Progressives Congress and the PDP. He said Atiku was chosen based on his promise to restructure Nigeria. “Our support for Atiku Abubakar, an ardent apostle of restructuring of the Nigerian state, gives our movement a better and more feasible prospects of taking charge of a new Nigeria in the shortest possible time,” he said.
