As you shouldn't, at least not when you're working in a tenant's home, the Tenancy Tribunal has ruled. A camera the bedroom's absent occupant had set up didn't disclose any thefts, any sleazy rummaging, or any otherwise egregious pokey-nosing. So on the face of these cases it might seem the system has had the tenants' back. First is the unknowable number of tenants who don't complain because illegally sub-standard homes, unhealthy or unsafe as they may be, are cheaper. Underpinning that view can be a concern that even to succeed at Tenancy Tribunal level can prove a pyrrhic victory.
