BRYCE BURGESS A female Rakiura tokoeke kiwi roams a Stewart Island walking track. I found a great company, Hiking New Zealand, that had a 4.5 day walk across Stewart Island. Saturday morning saw us bleary-eyed at the airport as we climbed into a 10-seat aircraft destined for the western coast of Stewart Island. Our destination tonight was the famous Stewart Island Pub Quiz, that is held every Sunday at the local pub. The beauty of Stewart Island showed through regardless of weather, and I found myself mentally planning my next trip back down in the future.
