Spike Lee’s filmed version of David Byrne’s — former Talking Heads frontman — Broadway theatrical concert “American Utopia” will open the largely virtual festival on September 10 in Toronto. It remains unclear if it will be a physical screening and will be contingent on the dictates of Ontario health officials. Much of the film industry still won’t be able to attend. “I can tell you after everything I had been through; I had been strangled, punched, sexually assaulted, among other things,” she said.
