'The forseeable future is fairly bleak': Sask. oil towns suffering

Oil towns like Midale, Sask., are suffering economically and residents say that's not likely to change when the province's COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease this month. Oil prices have plummeted to just a few dollars per barrel in recent weeks. Midale Mayor Allan Hauglum and others say the problems run much deeper. Now with COVID and with the oil prices dropping as far as they have, every day you hear of more and more people not having work," Hauglum said. "I'm sure it's going to happen, but the forseeable future is fairly bleak," he said.
