Fiji was our favourite pre-Covid Pacific Island destination, with close to 200,000 Kiwis coming back from an island holiday in 2019. With more than 140,000 Kiwis returning from a trip to China in 2019, New Zealand’s largest trading partner was also one of our most-visited countries. But this year it's shot to the top of the list, thanks to the Cook Islands travel bubble that opened in May, allowing Kiwis to travel there without having to quarantine.
