And if there is a food crisis, it is not possible to bring food from outside to feed this huge population, and the global situation seems to be that food will not be available. Boro paddy is expected to have bumper yields this year as there is no disease and insect infestation across the country. In the current boro season in the country, boro paddy has been planted in 5 million hectares of land, which is 2% more than the target and boro paddy will produce about 20 million metric tons. BRRI dhan28, BRRI dhan67, BRRI dhan74, and BRRI dhan88 have already harvested and BRRI hybrid5, BRRI dhan29, BRRI dhan89 are being harvested. This small effort of mine, under the leadership of our prime minister and people’s leader Sheikh Hasina, is a firm determination to stand by the corona crisis and the next possible food crisis.
