Yesterday, the Queenstown Lakes District Council hosted its annual Wanaka free chain-fitting workshop for first-timers and those needing a refresher down at the lakefront. After being given a demonstration by a Downer contractor, a "nervous" John Warner, of Wanaka, took the opportunity to practise putting the snow chains on with help only a car park away.
