Photo by Sam Barnes/SportsfileIrish sprinters Thomas Barr and Phil Healy have expressed their relief at the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics until 2021, a decision announced Tuesday after talks between Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe, and International Olympic Committee president, Thomas Bach. "It’s been awkward so in a way the announcement is a relief," said Barr, an Olympic finalist in 2016. "If they had let an Olympics go ahead, that was not a proper Olympics, it’s not good for anyone. Pushing it out will make it the biggest celebration in 2021 and it will be a momentous Olympics."
