She created a link between the Queensland AIDS Council, Sisters of Mercy and Mater Hospital. The Mater Hospital provided the Queensland AIDS Council with office space and three houses in South Brisbane free-of-charge for AIDS sufferers to stay. Sister Angela worked with helped AIDS sufferers for seven years, until a change of government allowed sufferers to deal with the government and community directly.
