A decade ago, she started The Universal Family project, and since then she’s photographed upwards of 50 diverse modern families in a dozen countries, including the U.S., England, France, Italy, Germany, Brazil and India. We chatted with Crowe about where the project is headed next and what sparked her potentially decades-long exploration of contemporary family life. I can trace it back to the fact that I just really enjoy photographing families.
