The new series is set a few years after The Handmaid’s Tale, with Agnes MacKenzie (One Battle After Another star Chase Infiniti) currently a teenager in Gilead. The series is based on The Testaments by Margaret Atwood, the author of The Handmaid’s Tale. The Testaments book came out in 2019, 34 years after The Handmaid’s Tale book was released in 1989. The Testaments is as shocking as The Handmaid’s Tale right from the very start. Just like The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments feels chillingly relatable.
