His victory in 1988, three years after he had won The Open Championship, has become the stuff of legend. Sam Snead, a three-times Masters winner, won the inaugural edition. But it does come with a curse - no player has won the Masters and the Par 3 contest. He is also one of only two players to have won the Par 3 back-to-back.
