One receiver played three years of collegiate lacrosse and one year of “Division II” football. Another receiver was a quarterback at a second-tier school in a second tier league. The outside linebacker was a washout in his first pro team. And lest we forget the quarterback was drafted 199th in th six round, in part because he had to alternate time with a supposedly better player in his senior season. All are New England Patriots, headed back to the Super Bowl for the seventh time under head coach Bill Belichick.
