The impending changes are part of a continued effort to simplify the vast maze of watches, advisories, and warnings issued by the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service's map of weather alerts across the United States on June 29, 2019. Beginning on September 24, 2019, the National Weather Service will remedy this problem by reformatting some severe weather alerts using four key points: what, where, when, and impacts. It’s hard even for a devoted weather enthusiast to navigate the labyrinth of severe weather alerts put out by the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service is working to reduce and simplify that voluminous list to make it easier to stay ahead of dangerous weather.
