Ahead of the expansion draft, teams scrambled to protect assets they were forced to expose to Vegas under the expansion rules, causing a flurry of trades and side deals. And while Vegas was playing with a stacked deck, the Golden Knights won big in a lot of them. The best deal for Vegas was the one struck with the Florida Panthers, one of the clear losers of the expansion draft.
