Auston Matthews, who has perhaps the best wrist shot/snap shot in the NHL, was asked Monday if had anything to teach young Maple Leafs teammate Nick Robertson in that regard. That’s high praise for the 21-year-old Robertson, who hasn’t even made the opening-night roster yet. Robertson’s inclusion in that group speaks to how much the Leafs think of his potential. The next step is learning how to find the time and space to make better use of that wicked shot. Otherwise, the lineup, Robertson included, could be close to how the Leafs look when they return to Montreal for the regular-season opener on Oct. 12.
