Note that I am saying "acute" and not "a cute" because C. difficile is never cute. In a fecal transplant, you basically take poop from one person and insert it into another person. The fecal transplant successfully treated 5 of the 9 patients, while the course of metronidazole successfully treated 5 of the 11 patients. Successfully meant that the C. difficile infection was cleared and a recurrence of the infection did not occur within 70 days. So as Sir Mix-A-Lot did not sing, "Baby's Got Bacteria" could be better than antibiotics at treating C. difficile infection.
