ATLANTA — In Georgia, the number of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations have been creeping upward over the past few weeks. Alabama’s overall positivity rate has increased each of the last two weeks, according to the state health agency. Nationwide, there’s been more than 2.6 million cases and 68,219 confirmed deaths since the start of the pandemic. Russia’s state coronavirus task force has reported over 5.8 million confirmed coronavirus cases and a total of 144,492 deaths in the pandemic. The country of 84 million has so far administered 58.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses.
