Rob LoudShow me a person who says rock n’ roll is dead, and I’ll show you a person who missed the Killers at Madison Square Garden on Friday night. And as the Killers strutted onto the Madison Square Garden stage to the thunderous bass groove of Wonderful Wonderful's prophetic title track, all of those pitiable doomsday forecasts gave way to the truth: After nearly 15 years, the Killers have finally become the bonafide rock stars they've always dreamed of being. For nearly two hours, the frustratingly handsome singer preened to both sides of the crowd and made outsize gestures from atop stage monitors. But the band played every song as if it were their last, and the audience reveled in their conviction. The Killers have always worn their earnestness on their sleeve, even when their peers trafficked in irony.
